Semico Capital Forms JV to Operate Family Entertainment Outlet

Semico Capital (KLSE:SEMICO) signed a joint venture and shareholders agreement with Chan Kean Seng and Kosmare to operate a family entertainment outlet at the Pavilion Bukit Jalil Shopping Mall, according to a Wednesday Bursa Malaysia filing.On completion, Kosmare will issues new shares, granting the family entertainment products and services provider a 49% stake for 490,000 ringgit and Chan a 51% stake for 510,000 ringgit.The parties will further provide funding of 3 million ringgit to 4 million ringgit.The venture is a strategic initiative to strengthen the company's core business and broaden revenue streams.

Credit Card Spending in South Korea Rises 7.6% in Q2

Credit card spending in South Korea rose 7.6% to 336.9 trillion won in the April-June quarter from a year earlier, Credit Finance Association data showed Thursday.The number of approved card settlements climbed 6% to 7.96 billion in the second quarter from the same period last year.The total card approval amount growth rate rose to 7.6% in Q2 from 7.2% in Q1, while card approval volume growth increased to 6% from 5.1% during the period.Consumption improved on higher income, strong semiconductor demand, and government policies aimed at stabilizing prices and supporting public livelihoods. This helped sustain robust card spending growth.
