SDIC Power's Electricity Generation Drops 15% in Q2

SDIC Power (SHA:600886) generated 32.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in the second quarter, down 14.8% from a year earlier, according to a Saturday filing on the Shanghai bourse.The state-owned utility's on-grid electricity for the April-June period similarly fell 15.2% year over year to 31.46 billion kWh. The contraction was driven by reduced rainfall and lower water inflows in the river basins feeding its hydropower subsidiaries, including Yalong River Hydropower Station and the Xiaosanxia Hydropower Station.For the first half of 2026, total power generation slipped 8.7% to 70.36 billion kWh, while total on-grid electricity dropped 8.88% to 68.50 billion kWh.Despite the volume drop, the company noted that its average H1 on-grid tariff edged up 3.68% to 0.366 yuan/kWh due to capacity payments and commercial marketing adjustments.
