Neurizon Therapeutics (ASX:NUZ) said it dosed over 50% of participants in the first regimen of a trial evaluating NUZ-001 for the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.ALS is neurological disorder that destroys the nerve cells that control voluntary muscle movement.The company said it surpassed the 50% dosing milestone ahead of schedule, with 129 of 240 participants now dosed, with recruitment momentum also tracking ahead of expectations.Neurizon is well-positioned for last participant dosing in the second quarter of 2027 and for the planned release of top-line results early in the third quarter of 2027.

Neurizon Therapeutics (ASX:NUZ) said the Bellberry Human Research Ethics Committee approved its phase 1 study to develop the NUZ-001 oral liquid formulation as a potential treatment for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.ALS is a neurodegenerative disorder associated with progressive impairment in speech and swallowing function.The phase 1 trial will enroll 32 healthy volunteers in Australia with the aim of generating safety and other data to guide formulation development and the broader program for NUZ-001, the company said.The study is scheduled to start in the third quarter and be completed in the fourth quarter.Neurizon Therapeutics shares gained 3% in recent Wednesday trade.

Neurizon Therapeutics Raises Nearly AU$3 Million to Reduce Entitlement Offer Shortfall; Shares Fall 7%

Neurizon Therapeutics (ASX:NUZ) received firm commitments to raise AU$2.7 million to help fill the shortfall from its recently completed pro rata non-renounceable entitlement offer, which raised about AU$5.9 million of the targeted AU$17.1 million, leaving a shortfall of around AU$11.3 million, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.The company will issue 33.2 million new shares at AU$0.08 each under the shortfall placement, with the shares ranking equally with existing shares, per the filing.Settlement is scheduled for April 20, with allotment taking place on April 21, the filing said.The funds will be used to advance the ongoing clinical development and potential commercialization of its lead candidate NUZ-001, as well as to support general working capital requirements, the filing said.The company's shares fell around 7% in recent Thursday trade.
