Neurizon Therapeutics Surpasses 50% Dosing Milestone in Trial of ALS Treatment

Neurizon Therapeutics (ASX:NUZ) said it dosed over 50% of participants in the first regimen of a trial evaluating NUZ-001 for the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.

ALS is neurological disorder that destroys the nerve cells that control voluntary muscle movement.

The company said it surpassed the 50% dosing milestone ahead of schedule, with 129 of 240 participants now dosed, with recruitment momentum also tracking ahead of expectations.

Neurizon is well-positioned for last participant dosing in the second quarter of 2027 and for the planned release of top-line results early in the third quarter of 2027.

Beijing Balance Medical Technology (SHA:688198) plans to repurchase shares worth between 50 million yuan and 100 million yuan, according to a Shanghai bourse filing on Thursday.The company will buy back between 359,583 shares and 719,165 shares, which represents 0.26% to 0.52% of the company's total shares, within 12 months after the approval of the board of directors.The maximum repurchase price will be 139.05 yuan per share.The repurchased shares will be used for the company's employee stock ownership plan or equity incentives.The medical device manufacturer's shares rose 1% during the morning trade.
