Benton and Metals Creek Stake 262 Claim Units at the Smoking Gun Hydrogen-Helium Project in Newfoundland

Benton Resources (BEX.V) and Metals Creek Resources (MEK.V) staked an additional 262 claims at the Smoking Gun Hydrogen/Helium Project in the Deer Lake Basin in Newfoundland, the companies said in a statement on Thursday.

The companies are currently awaiting results from the recently completed soil gas program. Both parties will plan an inaugural drill program to test favorable targets for hydrogen and helium after compiling the results.

Shares of Benton and Metals Creek closed up 11% at C$0.10 and at C$0.05, respectively, on Wednesday on the TSX Venture Exchange.

AutoCanada Completes Acquisition of Doug's Place Southgate Collision Repair Business

AutoCanada (ACQ.TO) after market close on Wednesday said it completed its acquisition of Doug's Place Southgate, a collision repair business based in Edmonton, Alberta.Doug's Place Southgate adds approximately 7,540 square feet of collision-repair capacity to AutoCanada's network.The acquisition builds upon AutoCanada's initial purchase of the first Doug's Place location (Strathcona) in October 2025.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.AutoCanada's shares closed up C$0.13 to C$22.36 on Toronto Stock Exchange.

Major Drilling Fiscal Q1 Earnings, Revenue Jump, Beat Forecasts

Major Drilling Group International (MDI.TO) said Wednesday after trade its fiscal first-quarter earnings jumped 44% to C$0.18 per share from C$0.12 per share in the prior year period.Analysts polled by FactSet had expected C$0.17 per share.The company, which provides contract drilling services to mining companies, said quarterly revenue rose 19% to hit a record C$277.3 million, beating the C$263.6 million FactSet forecast.Each region contributed double-digit revenue growth that was mainly driven by deploying additional rigs, combined with an improved pricing environment, said chief executive Denis Larocque.Major Drilling shares closed up C$0.04 to C$16.47 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
