Oil prices edged down slightly Friday morning as traders awaited details on a possible deal between Iran and Oman to partially reopen the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping, CNBC reported.West Texas Intermediate September crude oil futures, the US benchmark, fell $0.27 or 0.4% to $77.02 per barrel. Brent crude oil, the international benchmark, fell $0.41, or 0.5% to $82.07 a barrel for October delivery.Comex gold for December delivery continued to climb higher to a near two-month high. The precious metal added $112.30, or 2.6%, to $4,411.90 per ounce.In agricultural commodities, September wheat futures rose 1.43% to $6.40 per bushel, while November canola futures rose 0.2% to C$770.30 per tonne.

Standard Uranium (STND.V) secured C$3 million in financing from a Southeast Asian conglomerate through a private placement, the uranium exploration company said Friday.The company plans to use the proceeds to advance exploration at the Davidson River project in Saskatchewan, as well as for working capital and general corporate purposes.Under the offering, Standard Uranium will issue about 39.2 million units priced at C$0.0765 each. The investor will acquire a 19.7% non-diluted stake in the company following the transaction.The units are made up of a share and a three-year warrant to buy a share for C$0.115.

Fiera Capital's Second-Quarter Adjusted Earnings Falls 13% YoY

Fiera Capital's (FSZ.TO) second-quarter adjusted earnings fell 13% year over year, to C$0.21 per share, from C$0.24 per share, the company said on Friday.The result fell short of the consensus analyst expectation of C$0.24 per share, according to FactSet.
