Freeman Gold (FMAN.V) said Monday that it began baseline soil and geochemistry programs at its Lemhi Gold Project in Idaho.
The programs will generate baseline data to support project planning, environmental review and future permitting activities, a statement said.
"Building a comprehensive environmental and geochemical database is critical as we continue to de-risk the project. The soil work will provide important information for reclamation and closure planning, while the geochemical characterization program will help us better understand the behavior of potential mine materials and guide future mine planning, permitting and environmental management," said Freeman Chief Executive Officer Bassam Moubarak.
Freeman Gold shares last traded on Sept. 18, closing at CA$0.415 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
