Core Scientific Completes $444 Million Acquisition of Polaris DS

Core Scientific (CORZ) on Friday said it has completed the $444 million acquisition of Oklahoma-based data-center infrastructure company Polaris DS.The acquisition will provide Core Scientific access to about 440 megawatts of gross, grid-connected power capacity secured by Polaris under an existing agreement with OGE Energy (OGE) subsidiary Oklahoma Gas & Electric, the company said in a statement.Core Scientific intends to expand its Muskogee, Oklahoma campus to about 1.5 gigawatts of gross power, or about 1 GW of leasable power "through a combination of grid-connected and behind-the-meter solutions."The company has added over 600 MW of leasable power to its portfolio this year through site acquisitions and expects to deliver the next 82 MW starting in H2 2027, the statement said.The Delaware-based digital infrastructure company builds and operates data centers for high-density colocation services.

OGE Operating Expense Rise in Q2

OGE Energy (OGE), the parent company of Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company, reported Wednesday that Q2 2026 operating expenses rose to $302.6 million from $293.9 million for the same quarter in 2025.Fuel, purchased power, and direct transmission expenses declined to $217.7 million from $261.1 million in the second quarter of 2025.
