Energy stocks were rising premarket Thursday, with the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) advancing by 0.5%.The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 1.3% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 0.4% higher.Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 1.4% higher at $92.50 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil rose 1.9% to $96.69 per barrel, and natural gas futures were up 0.3% at $2.62 per 1 million British Thermal Units.TotalEnergies (TTE) shares were up more than 3% after the company said Q1 exploration and production results are expected to rise significantly, supported by higher oil prices and contributions from new projects.Equinor (EQNR) stock was up more than 1% after the company said it expects stronger Q1 results in its marketing, midstream, and processing division.Enbridge's (ENB) Enbridge Energy has received US presidential permits to operate and maintain the existing pipeline facilities at the US-Canada border in St. Clair County, Michigan, and Pembina County, North Dakota, the White House said. Enbridge Energy Secures US Presidential Permit for Three Border Pipelines in North Dakota

Enbridge Energy, an indirect subsidiary of Canadian energy infrastructure company Enbridge (ENB), has secured a US presidential permit to operate three pipeline facilities at the international border of the US and Canada in Pembina, North Dakota, the White House said Wednesday.The permit allows Enbridge Energy to operate and maintain three existing facilities and transport crude oil and petroleum products, including naphtha, liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas liquids, jet fuel, gasoline, kerosene, and diesel, between the US and Canada through the three existing facilities.It does not include the approval to transport natural gas however, subject to section 3 of the Natural Gas Act, the statement said.The new permit replaces a previous presidential approval issued to the company on Dec. 12, 1991.The company had applied for an amendment to its existing permit in January this year, the statement said.
