Coinbase's Everything Exchange Positioning Represents Meaningful Strategic Value, Morgan Stanley Says

Coinbase Global's (COIN) Everything Exchange pivot to move beyond a pure crypto trading platform represents strategic value, with the company well placed to participate as crypto and traditional finance converge, Morgan Stanley said in a Thursday note. The Everything Exchange expands the company's opportunity beyond crypto into equities, commodities, prediction markets, pre-IPO exposure, and tokenized assets, while its custody, financing, stablecoin partnerships position it across the infrastructure layer, the note said.Morgan Stanley said that the company's earnings profile remains highly cyclical and expected total revenue to decline 18% to $5.9 billion and adjusted EBITDA to fall 28% to $1.8 billion, with a 31% margin in 2026.However, Coinbase is poised for a revenue rebound of 50% to $8.9 billion in 2027, with adjusted EBITDA more than doubling to $3.7 billion and margin expanding to 42% as revenue growth materially outpaces operating expenses, the firm said.Morgan Stanley initiated coverage on the company with an equalweight rating and a $250 price target.Price: $172.65, Change: $-2.07, Percent Change: -1.18%
