Astral Resources Hit Wide Mineral Zones at Western Australia Gold Project; Shares Jump 4%

Astral Resources (ASX:AAR) said the first hole of the ongoing nine-hole, 5,500-meter deep diamond drilling program, targeting extensions of the Theia deposit at the Mandilla gold project in Western Australia, encountered exceptional wide zones of mineralization, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.It intersected gold mineralization to a depth of 614.4 meters downhole and 210 meters below the current mineral resource estimate, with a total intersection of 358.23 meters at 1.03 grams per tonne grade of gold from 256.17 meters.Its shares jumped 4% in recent trading on Friday.

Astral Resources Says Diamond Drilling Underway at Western Australia Gold Project

Astral Resources (ASX:AAR) said diamond drilling was underway at its Mandilla gold project in Western Australia, targeting depth extensions up to 200 meters below the base of the current mineral resource limits at the Theia deposit, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.Two holes of a six-hole, 3,000-meter diamond drilling program were completed. Both holes were extended beyond target depth, encountering quartz veining and visible gold up to 360 meters below the base of the existing Theie open pit shell.It purchased the 21-hectare Mandilla Homestead freehold land, adjacent to the proposed project development, for a total consideration of AU$850,000. Settlement is scheduled to occur on or around Aug. 10.It received assays of nine meters at 4.38 grams-per-tonne grade of gold from 108 meters, as well as four meters at 8.31 g/t grade of gold from 97 meters from drilling at the 5B deposit within the Spargoville gold project, also in Western Australia.

Astral Resources Grows Total Gold Resource Across Western Australia Projects

Astral Resources (ASX:AAR) said its updated mineral resource estimate (MRE) at the Mandilla Gold Project in Western Australia stands at 54 million tonnes at 1 gram per tonne (g/t) gold for 1.7 million ounces of contained gold, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.The company said, including the MRE at Feysville of 5 million tonnes at 1.2 g/t gold for 196,000 ounces and the MRE at Spargoville of 3 million tonnes at 1.4 g/t gold for 139,000 ounces, the consolidated Astral MRE is now estimated at 62 million tonnes at 1.1 g/t gold for 2.1 million ounces of contained gold.
