Volatus Aerospace Qualified Under Canada's Defence Drone Initiative Marketplace

Volatus Aerospace (FLT.TO) gained the status as a pre-qualified supplier under the Canadian Government's Defence Drone Initiative Marketplace.

The qualification allows Volatus to compete for future opportunities involving uncrewed and autonomous systems to support the Canadian Armed Forces and Canadian Coast Guard, the company said Thursday.

Canada launched the marketplace in July 2026 to strengthen the country's domestic defense industrial capacity, according to Volatus.

Volatus noted that the qualification does not represent an award of a procurement contract, nor does it guarantee future revenue.

Shell Completes C$22 Billion Acquisition of ARC Resources

AutoCanada Completes Acquisition of Doug's Place Southgate Collision Repair Business

AutoCanada (ACQ.TO) after market close on Wednesday said it completed its acquisition of Doug's Place Southgate, a collision repair business based in Edmonton, Alberta.Doug's Place Southgate adds approximately 7,540 square feet of collision-repair capacity to AutoCanada's network.The acquisition builds upon AutoCanada's initial purchase of the first Doug's Place location (Strathcona) in October 2025.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.AutoCanada's shares closed up C$0.13 to C$22.36 on Toronto Stock Exchange.

Major Drilling Fiscal Q1 Earnings, Revenue Jump, Beat Forecasts

Major Drilling Group International (MDI.TO) said Wednesday after trade its fiscal first-quarter earnings jumped 44% to C$0.18 per share from C$0.12 per share in the prior year period.Analysts polled by FactSet had expected C$0.17 per share.The company, which provides contract drilling services to mining companies, said quarterly revenue rose 19% to hit a record C$277.3 million, beating the C$263.6 million FactSet forecast.Each region contributed double-digit revenue growth that was mainly driven by deploying additional rigs, combined with an improved pricing environment, said chief executive Denis Larocque.Major Drilling shares closed up C$0.04 to C$16.47 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
