Russel Metals (RUS.TO) said Friday it received exchange approvals to renew its normal course issuer bid (NCIB), to buy back up to 5.45 million shares, 10% of its public float.
The NCIB will begin on Aug. 18 and run for one year.
Russel Metals bought back 1.02-million shares of an allowed 5.54 million under its previous share buyback program.
The company's shares closed up C$0.83, or 1%, to C$80.50 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
