Rogers Communications (RCI-B.TO) is making Rogers Satellite available to Rogers wireless customers in British Columbia amid the spread of wildfires to allow customers to stay connected, the company said Friday.
Rogers Satellite provides connectivity when traditional cell coverage is lost if cellular towers sustain damage from a wildfire or a power outage, and in areas outside of coverage areas, such as remote highways.
Rogers is also providing service to customers who have been evacuated by crediting internet, TV and home phone services during the evacuation period.
