Jaguar Mining's Q1 Gold Production Steady YoY

Jaguar Mining (JAG.TO) said Monday that its gold production remained steady year over year in the first quarter.The company produced 9,629 ounces of gold in the three months ended March 31, compared with 9,924 ounces produced a year ago.Gold sales totaled 9,146 ounces compared with 9,544 ounces in the previous year.During the quarter, Jaguar said it resumed operations at the Turmalina complex in Brazil after all regulatory embargoes related to the Satinoco tailings pile event were lifted. The mine contributed about 9% of the company's gold production.Meanwhile, Jaguar said it benefited from favorable gold prices, which averaged US$4,876 per ounce in the quarter.Following the results, Jaguar said it is well-positioned to meet its 2026 gold production guidance of 50,000-60,000 ounces.

Scotiabank Previews Monday's CPI Data in Canada

Canada updates the consumer price index for March at 8:30 a.m. ET on Monday, said Scotiabank.Consensus sits at 1.1% month-over-month seasonally unadjusted (NSA), noted the bank, which estimates a 0.9% figure.The range is from 0.9-1.3%, pointed out Scotiabank. Estimates for the year-over-year rate run from 2.4% (Scotiabank) to 2.8%, with a median of 2.6%.Analysts are all high with slight variations on a gasoline-and fuel-driven spike as the main driver of the month-over-month gain, plus typical seasonality, stated the bank. The year-over-year rate is also buoyed by resetting the base effect from last April's elimination of the consumer portion of the carbon tax.The soft patch on core inflation measures was viewed as probably temporary even before the Iran war and the potential pass-through of higher commodities entered the picture, added Scotiabank. Core industrial prices were already surging and led core CPI inflation.The dip in core measures over recent months is hardly unprecedented-- early 2024 was another such period, according to the bank. The measures aren't all aligned as the traditional core has often been "warmer."

Sable Offshore Expects $180 Million in Capital Expenditures Through December, Oil Transportation Begins

Sable Offshore (SOC) said Monday that capital expenditure across its assets is expected to be around $180 million from April through December this year.The company also said oil transportation through two segments of the Santa Ynez Pipeline System has begun.The company said the 40 wells currently online at the Harmony and Heritage offshore platforms are producing an average of 750 barrels of oil per day per well.Once all 74 production wells are online, Sable said it expects average production per well to be around 700 barrels of oil per day.Sable also said it expects Platform Hondo to come online in June with an estimated fully ramped production rate of around 10,000 barrels of oil per day.The company also said it plans to conclude a refinancing of its senior secured term loan in the second quarter of 2026.Shares of the company were up 3.7% in Monday premarket trading.
