Enel Chile Sees Drop in Distributed Power in 2025, Eyes Growth Through 2028

Enel Chile (ENIC) said it distributed 14.4 terawatt-hours of power in the 2025 financial year ended March 31, down from 14.7 TWh in the prior year.Outlining its strategy through 2028, the company plans to more than double capacity in solar and double the number of EV charging points it operates in Chile.It will increasingly deploy battery storage for smooth integration of variable renewables and upgrade hydroelectric dams, a major source of power in Chile and elsewhere in South America, with more efficient equipment.Capital spending in its 2026-28 strategic plan will grow to $1.6 billion from $1.4 billion for the 2025-2027 plan, Enel said.Hydroelectric and renewables will produce a larger share of Chile's power by 2028 while thermal generation will shrink, according to the strategic plan.
