Expand Energy to Acquire Twin Eagle for $1.25 Billion in Cash

Expand Energy (EXE) said Monday it has agreed to acquire Twin Eagle, a private asset-backed natural gas marketing and optimization business, for $1.25 billion in cash from Five Point Infrastructure.The deal is expected to close in Q3, and is initially expected to contribute over $200 million of projected annual EBITDA and $150 million synergies annually by the end of 2028, the company said.Expand Energy said it plans to fund the acquisition using cash on hand and borrowings from its revolving credit facility.The merger creates value by improving Expand's marketing and commercial strategy, increasing its customer and market reach, and strengthening its finances, the company said.Shares of the company were down 1% in premarket activity Monday.

Berenberg Ups Price Target, Forecasts for Repsol on Refining Margin Outlook, Expanded Share Buyback

Berenberg raised its price target and earnings estimates for Repsol (REP.MC), citing rising European refining margins and the Spanish energy company's accelerating share repurchase plan."Repsol is the most exposed of the European integrated energy companies to the current strength in refining margins, which we expect will drive consensus upgrades for both Q3 and FY26, and we increase our price target to EUR31 (from EUR28). We also update for confirmation on the second tranche of the buyback and confirmation that a third tranche will be announced with the Q3 results in October - our updated buyback assumption is 13% ahead of consensus," according to a Monday note.After delivering a second-quarter refining margin of $14 per barrel plus a $10/bbl premium, Repsol said it realized a $34/bbl margin in July so far, with a $9/bbl premium, which the research firm noted surpassed the consensus forecast of $13/bbl."Ongoing disruption in the Middle East, refinery outages in Russia and low product inventories are facing healthy demand, and we expect the market to remain tight in the near term," analysts added.Accordingly, Berenberg upgraded its third-quarter indicator margin assumption, which helped raise the research firm's forecast for industrial business' adjusted net income by 100% to "just over" 1 billion euros. Fuchs Downgraded to Hold as Berenberg Notes 'Caveats' in Q2 Beat

Berenberg lowered its rating and price target for Fuchs (FPE.F), as analysts noted "some caveats" in the company's second-quarter beat.For the second quarter, the German lubricant supplier reported a preliminary EBIT of 135 million euros, which Berenberg said Monday "handily beat" the Vara consensus expectations of 108 million euros. Consequently, Fuchs raised its 2026 EBIT forecast to between 460 million euros and 480 million euros, compared with its previous 450 million-euro forecast."However, we believe the beat was largely driven by factors of a temporary nature: 1) base oil supply issues at competitors, including Shell [SHEL.L, SHELL.AS]; and 2) pre-buying by end-customers nervous about lubricant availability owing to the Iran conflict. Temporary overearning in the chemicals sector is, in our experience, invariably paid for later in a way that overshoots market expectations," analysts said. "We were already below 2027 Bloomberg consensus EBIT for Fuchs, but now feel more comfortable in being so: by c5%."Against this backdrop, Berenberg raised its 2026 EPS estimate by 10.9%, reflecting "favorable" foreign exchange movements, higher volumes tied to competitors' raw material supply limitations, and pre-buying.
