Toyota Motor's (TYO:7203) first spin-off from its new-business-creation framework, "BE creation", OneStream, secured investment from three companies, the automaker said in a Thursday release.The three firms are Kamigumi, Fuku Trans Corporation, and NE Investment. The capital investment will be used to improve port and container logistics in Japan, according to the release.The platform allows logistics operators to share cargo preparation, transportation, and container loading information, which will allow shippers, warehouse operators, transportation companies, and port-related stakeholders to carry out their operations more efficiently, it said.Shares of Toyota Motor added over 1% at market close.

Kamigumi Board OKs Performance-Linked Restricted Stock Plan for Directors

Kamigumi (TYO:9364) board approved a performance-linked stock compensation plan for directors, linking officer compensation, company performance, and shareholder value, according to a May 19 filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.The integrated logistics services company said that the new plan, subject to shareholder approval at the June 26 general meeting, will cap the annual compensation for directors at 200 million yen, with up to 16,000 shares issued or transferred each year.Under the new framework, directors will receive shares and cash payments based on the achievement of performance targets set under the medium-term management plan.The first performance evaluation period will run from the fiscal year ending March 2027 through March 2030, and the performance metrics will include consolidated return on equity and total shareholder return.
