Yancoal Australia Workers Vote in Favor of Industrial Action, MEU Says

Yancoal Australia (ASX:YAL, HKG:3668) workers at its Premier Coal mine in Western Australia voted in favor of protected industrial action over pay and redundancy entitlements, the Mining and Energy Union (MEU) said in a statement on Wednesday.Over 90% of MEU members and about 93% of Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union members backed the proposed action as they push for wage increases and redundancy provisions in what is expected to be their final enterprise agreement before the mine shuts down, the statement said.

Yancoal Australia Renews Framework Agreements for Coal Sales to Chinese Firms

Yancoal Australia (ASX:YAL, HKG:3668) renewed its framework agreements for coal sales with Yankuang Energy and YIT, according to a late Tuesday Australian bourse filing.The firm entered into a framework agreement with Yankuang Energy, under which the Yancoal group agreed to continue to sell coal to Yankuang Energy and/or their units, excluding the Yancoal group, as well as a framework agreement with YIT, under which Yancoal agreed to continue to sell coal to YIT and/or its associates, excluding the Yankuang Energy Group.Both framework agreements are for the period Nov. 1 to Dec. 31, per the filing. The sale price for the coal will be based on industry index prices, coal quality characteristics, and market alternatives to optimize value to the firm.Yankuang Energy is a controlling shareholder of Yancoal Australia, holding around 62.26% of its total issued shares. YIT is a wholly-owned unit of Shandong Energy, the controlling shareholder of Yankuang Energy.Yancoal plans to subsequently renew the agreements for three years from Jan. 1, 2027, to Dec. 31, 2029.Yancoal Australia's shares fell past 1% in recent trading on Wednesday.

Yancoal Australia H1 Post-Tax Profit Down; Revenue Up

Yancoal Australia (HKG:3668, ASX:YAL) logged second-quarter saleable coal production of 10.8 million tonnes, up 15% from a year prior.Saleable coal sales grew 43% year over year to 11.6 million tonnes, according to a Monday Hong Kong bourse filing by parent Yankuang Energy (SHA:600188, HKG:1171).Average realized price increased 13% year over year to AU$160 per tonne in the three months.For the first half, output and sales increased 5% and 20%, respectively, to 19.8 million tonnes each.

Yancoal Australia's Coal Output, Sales Slide in Q1

Yancoal Australia's (HKG:3668, ASX:YAL) saleable coal production fell 5% to 9 million tons in the first quarter of 2026 from 9.5 million tons in the year-ago period, a Monday filing with the Hong Kong bourse said.Sales slipped 2% to 8.2 million tons from 8.4 million tons in the prior-year period.The average realized price of coal slid 7% year over year to AU$146 per ton from AU$157 per ton previously, according to the filing.Production during the first quarter decreased 2% to 11.3 million tons from 11.5 million tons last year.
