HBM Holdings (HKG:2142) said a U.S. jury found in favor of its unit Harbour Antibodies in a patent infringement lawsuit against Amgen and its subsidiary Teneobio, according to a Monday Hong Kong bourse filing.The jury in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware found that Amgen infringed a patent covering Harbour Antibodies' antibody discovery platform, that the infringement was willful, and that the patent is valid.The jury awarded Harbour Antibodies damages of about $20.2 million, representing the full amount sought at trial.HBM said the finding of willful infringement allows Harbour Antibodies to seek enhanced damages, which could raise the award to as much as $60.6 million if granted in full by the court.

HBM Holdings (HKG:2142) said its LET003 drug candidate was found to have a more favorable drug-profile in the body than several competing molecules, according to a Monday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.According to preclinical data, the drug significantly enhanced fat reduction and preserved lean mass when combined with Novo Nordisk's weight loss drug semaglutide.Specifically, in an obesity model using wild-type mice, the drug combo decreased fat mass by 76% compared with 34.7% for semaglutide alone.The AI-enabled drug also promoted lean mass at lower doses, with effects comparable to those seen with higher doses of Novartis' bimagrumab, the firm said.
