Colombian oil producer Ecopetrol (EC) has completed the acquisition of a 51% controlling stake in Brazil's Brava Energia through its subsidiary Ecopetrol Investimentos do Brasil, it said on Tuesday.Ecopetrol paid $1.2 billion for the stake, to increase its reserve and production base in the country.Brava Energia's proven reserves were estimated at 459 million barrels of oil equivalent as of Dec. 31, 2025, according to the statement. Its proven plus probable reserves stood at around 605 mmboe.The company's production averaged 78,800 barrels of oil equivalent per day in H1 and reached 84,400 boe/d in June.
