Sun Silver (ASX:SS1) said it intercepted high-grade silver at its Maverick project in Nevada, US, beyond the site's current mineral resource estimate, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.Drill results outside the current mineral resource at hole MR26-240 were 8.3 meters at 170 grams per tonne grade of silver equivalent from 266.3 meters, including 4.5 meters at 301 g/t silver equivalent from 266.3 meters, per the filing.The company reported over 100 meters of cumulative mineralization per hole, confirming extensive antimony mineralization that validates the geological model.MR26-240 delivered a mineralized intercept totaling 103 meters, including 28.2 meters at 80 g/t silver equivalent from nearly 151 meters, and 16.2 meters at 88 g/t silver equivalent from 205.7 meters.Meanwhile, MR25-233 delivered a mineralized intercept totaling 114 meters, including nearly 28 meters at 70 g/t silver equivalent from 178.3 meters, and 53.3 meters at 51 g/t silver equivalent from 217.5 meters.

Sun Silver (ASX:SS1) said drilling is underway at its Maverick silver project in Nevada to support a resource upgrade and drive growth, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.Step-out drilling is targeting north-west extensions, focusing on continuity of high-grade hinge-zone mineralization, while additional diamond drill cores are being collected for metallurgical test work.It held cash reserves of around AU$23.1 million as of June 30.Its shares rose 6% in recent trading on Friday.

Sun Silver to Acquire Nevada Project From Bayan Mining and Minerals; Shares Up 3%

Sun Silver (ASX:SS1) executed a binding agreement to acquire the Bayan Springs North project in Nevada from Bayan Mining and Minerals (ASX:BMM), according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.The project comprises 116 lode claims covering around 9.7 square kilometers on land administered by the US Bureau of Land Management. The transaction is expected to be completed by Aug. 31Sun Silver will pay Bayan AU$150,000 on the completion date and a further AU$150,000 upon 12 months after completion, both in cash. It will grant Bayan a 1% net smelter return royalty over the acquired claims.It will also make a contingent payment of AU$500,000, payable in cash or the equivalent number of Sun Silver shares at Sun Silver's election upon the announcement within five years of completion of a drill intersection of at least 20 meters grading 100 grams per tonne of silver-equivalent or greater.Sun Silver also staked an additional 106 lode mining claims covering around 8.86 square kilometers north-west of the Maverick silver project, also in Nevada, per the filing.Sun Silver's shares rose about 3% in recent trading on Thursday.

Sun Silver (ASX:SS1) said an additional 427 lode claims were staked to the north and south of the existing boundary of the Maverick silver project in Nevada during the March quarter, representing a 219% increase in total landholding, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.Drilling over the March quarter continued to confirm the continuity, quality, and scale of silver-gold mineralization at the Maverick project.Four diamond core drill rigs were mobilized on site as part of the drilling program.
