Arafura Rare Earths (ASX:ARU) said its board has made a final investment decision (FID) for the development of the Nolans Rare Earths Project in the Northern Territory, Australia, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.The company said Export Finance Australia has issued a non-binding letter of support regarding potential support under the Critical Minerals Strategic Reserve for up to 500 tonnes per year of neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr) oxide from the project.Hatch has been engaged as an engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) contractor, with the company now targeting commencement of construction from September, the filing added.

Arafura Rare Earths Signs NdPr Oxide Offtake Term Sheet With Traxys North America

Arafura Rare Earths (ASX:ARU) unit Arafura Nolans Project signed a binding offtake term sheet with Traxys North America to supply 500 tonnes per annum of NdPr oxide, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.The agreement is separate from a previous deal with Traxys Europe, and its pricing will be based on an independent global seaborne index, per the filing.It has a five-year term, with an option to extend by two years, and also includes an annual contract volume of 7.5 tonnes of DyTb oxide.The supply will support the onshoring of domestic manufacturing across automotive, defense, and advanced technologies sectors in the US, the company said.

Arafura Rare Earths (ASX:ARU) is set to issue AU$200 million of unsecured convertible notes to the National Reconstruction Fund to support the development of its Nolans project in the Northern Territory, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.The notes will have a tenor linked to the maturity of Nolans' senior finance facilities and are convertible at AU$0.476 apiece after two years of issue, per the filing.The issuance is subject to several conditions, including the approval of a final investment decision for Nolans, which must be satisfied by May 11, 2027.Arafura and the National Reconstruction Fund have signed definitive documentation for the issuance, superseding a binding term sheet signed in January 2025.
