Xanadu Quantum Technologies (XNDU.TO) on Friday said it secured a C$196 million grant from the Canadian government that will help it establish an advanced photonics research, development, and manufacturing facility in Toronto.
The facility, named "Inception," will feature cutting-edge technology to enable scalable production of the components that will power future quantum data centers, a statement said.
"The launch of Inception is a defining strategic milestone for Xanadu and the broader quantum industry," said Xanadu Chief Executive Officer Christian Weedbrook. "We believe that this investment ensures that Xanadu remains at the forefront of the field, providing the infrastructure necessary to transition quantum technology from the lab to commercial-scale data centres."
The company's shares were last seen up C$0.31 at C$14.70 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
