Rio Tinto Group (ASX:RIO) has attracted interest from private equity firms Apollo Global Management, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, Brookfield, and Blackstone as it prepares for a potential sale of its infrastructure assets in Western Australia's Pilbara region, The Australian's DataRoom reported on Tuesday.
Morgan Stanley is assisting with the possible sale, which could fetch between AU$2 billion and AU$3 billion for Rio Tinto, according to the report.
Brookfield and Apollo declined to comment, while Rio Tinto and the other private equity firms did not immediately respond to requests for comment from.
