White Cliff Minerals Says Gina Rinehart's Hancock Prospecting to Take 13.5% Stake With Nearly AU$9 Million Investment

White Cliff Minerals (ASX:WCN) said Hancock Prospecting agreed to acquire a 13.5% stake in the company through the purchase of about 515.8 million new shares at AU$0.017 each, representing a total investment of roughly AU$8.8 million, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.

Mining magnate Gina Rinehart is the executive chair of Hancock Prospecting.

The private placement is subject to shareholder approval, which White Cliff Minerals will seek at an extraordinary general meeting planned for Oct. 19.

If approval is obtained, the completion of the placement is expected three business days after the meeting, per the filing.

White Cliff Minerals said it will use the proceeds to expand and fast-track drilling and exploration activities at its Rae copper project in Canada.

Orora Chief Safety, Sustainability, Governance Officer to Step Down at End of Year

Orora (ASX:ORA) said Ann Stubbings plans to step down as chief safety, sustainability, and governance officer, effective Dec. 31, after more than 13 years with the packaging products firm, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.In addition, Susannah Jobling Hodgens will be appointed as chief legal officer, the company said. Market Chatter: Korea Exchange to Extend Trading Hours till 8PM

South Korea's main stock market, the Korea Exchange, will enable trading till 8 pm following the regular close at 3:30 pm from Monday, in its move toward 24-hour trading, Bloomberg News reported Sunday.This decision opens 2,400 Korea Composite Stock Price Index, or Kospi, and Kosdaq stocks for evening trades, which include short-selling.
