Aurora Cannabis (ACB.TO), which is fending off a hostile takeover bid by Curaleaf (CURA.TO) Wednesday afternoon said it acquired importer and wholesaler Internode Pharma and HAP Pharma, a pharmacy, both in the UK, for 2.1 million pounds cash.
The companies operate an import and distribution facility and a virtual pharmacy in England, and provide Aurora with a supply chain from cultivation through to delivery to patients, a statement said.
Aurora earlier today urged shareholders to ignore an unsolicited offer by Curaleaf Holdings (CURA.TO) after it launched its bid for Aurora shares at $4.00 each on Tuesday, consisting of 0.3463 subordinate voting share of Curaleaf and $0.75 in cash per Aurora share.
Aurora Cannabis shares were last seen up C$0.22, or 4.3%, to C$5.32 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
