Producer input prices in the UK climbed 6.1% year over year in August, following the revised 5.8% growth earlier, data from the Office for National Statistics showed Wednesday.
Analysts expected a 5.4% jump for the month.
Meanwhile, producer output, or factory gate prices, gained 3.7% annually, against the revised earlier increase and expected 3.3% rise.
On a monthly basis, producer input prices rose 0.3% in July, compared with the revised 0.8% decline previously and expectations of a 0.6% gain. Monthly factory gate prices were 0.7% higher, versus the prior revised 0.4% uptick and projected 0.5% increase.
