Trident Resources (ROCK.V) has mobilized geologic and drilling personnel and equipment to the Contact Lake gold project for the 2026 summer drill program, the company said Tuesday.
The mobilization includes two drills, and over 20,000 meters will be drilled in about 35 drill holes between June and November.
Drilling activities will be focused on expanding the known gold mineralization both along strike and at depth as the Contact Lake deposit remains open for expansion in all directions.
The summer program will seek to grow the resource base along strike to the west and at depth in multiple prospective target areas.
"Our [over] 20,000-meter summer drill program represents the largest single exploration phase in many decades at Contact Lake and reflects our commitment to aggressively advancing and expanding the project," said Jon Wiesblatt, Chief Executive Officer of Trident.
Assays are pending for seven holes from the winter program at the Contact Lake target area as well as 11 holes from the Preview SW deposit located 3 kilometers to the southeast. The winter program extended high-grade gold mineralization to the northeast at the BK3 zone.
