Tobila Systems Profit Slides 5.1% in Fiscal H1

Tobila Systems' (TYO:4441) profit fell 5.1% to 335 million yen for the fiscal first half ended April 30 from 353 million yen a year earlier.

The company, which develops and sells nuisance call filter products, said earnings per share declined to 32.85 yen from 34.41 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Wednesday.

Net sales jumped 22% to 1.67 billion yen from 1.37 billion yen in the prior-year period.

For the fiscal year ending Oct. 31, the company expects profit of 531 million yen, EPS of 52.58 yen, and net sales of 3.37 billion yen.

Tobila plans to pay a final dividend of 20 yen per share for the current fiscal year, which is lower than the 21.30 yen per share paid in the year-ago period.

Posco Holdings Reports One Death in Shinansan Line Accident

Posco Holdings (KRX:005490) disclosed a serious industrial accident at its Shinansan Line l, which left one worker dead, according to a Wednesday filing with the Korea Exchange.The worker fell from a height during electrical work preparation in a vertical shaft on Tuesday. The cause of the fall hasn't been identified yet, the filing said.Police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor are investigating the incident, and accident prevention measures are being written to prevent a recurrence, it said.
