Applications to invest in Thailand rose 37% year over year to $43.6 billion across 1,299 projects in the first half of 2026, led by the capital influx into the digital sector, according to data from the Board of Investment on Thursday.
Foreign direct investment applications propelled the growth with a 80% year-over-year surge to $40.5 billion across 877 projects.
Of the total, investment applications in the digital space touched $33 billion amid the global artificial intelligence boom.
In other sectors, the electrical appliances and electronics business attracted $3.56 billion worth of investments across 179 projects, while agriculture and food processing secured $1.82 billion across 131 projects, and logistics and high-value services attracted $1.19 billion across 170 projects.
The automotive sector also garnered investments worth $759.2 million across 122 projects.
