Terra Rossa Gold Announces New CEO

Terra Rossa Gold (TRR.V) appointed Carter Smith as president and chief executive officer effective immediately, said the company on Thursday.

Smith has also been appointed to the board of directors.

Smith has several years of experience in the mining sector covering capital markets, finance, M&A, corporate governance and strategic planning, added the company.

"On behalf of the Board of Directors I am extremely pleased to welcome Carter as President and CEO of Terra Rossa," said Patrick Downey, Chairman of Terra Rossa. "He arrives at an exciting time for the Company as we rapidly advance exploration at the Vetas Project towards our maiden drilling program. His broad Capital Markets experience in the mining sector will be a significant asset as we also increase our marketing focus and broaden our shareholder base."

The company's shares were last seen unchanged at $0.40 on the TSX Venture Exchange.

Trident Closes Option Agreement to Acquire Strategic Claims adjoining the Contact Lake Gold Project

Trident Resources (ROCK.V) on Wednesday said received TSX Venture Exchange approval and closed its property option agreement with North-Sask. Ventures to acquire up to a 100% stake 19 mineral claims totaling 3,586 hectares in Sasktchewan's La Ronge Gold Belt.The claims host numerous base and precious metal showings that have seen only limited exploration and are contiguous with Trident's current land holdings, the company said.Trident's shares closed up $0.18 at $2.70 on TSXV on Wednesday.
