Sun Life Financial (SLF.TO) and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CM.TO) separately said on Wednesday that they are expanding the use of artificial intelligence to help advisors better support clients, and cut time spent on routine administration.
Sun Life's AI-powered advisor concierge, launched last month, has been used in over 11,000 client conversations, a statement said. The lifeco's Notes Assistant, which won a 2026 CIO Award on Tuesday, summarizes client meetings, compiles action items and drafts follow-up emails. Advisors save 15-30 minutes per client session, the statement added.
CIBC's AdvisorAssist, which also won a CIO award, is an AI-enabled tool that "enhance[s] client conversations while supporting regulatory efficiency."
AdvisorAssist uses generative AI to automatically capture and summarize detailed notes during client meetings and streamline follow-up documentation, thereby saving time, CIBC added.
