South Korea's export prices surged 42.4% year over year in August, according to preliminary data released by the Bank of Korea on Tuesday.
The pace of growth eased from the revised 48.9% increase recorded the previous month. It missed the consensus forecast of 52.0% tracked by Trading Economics.
On a month-over-month basis, export prices edged down 3.7%, compared with a 0.9% rise in the preceding month.
Meanwhile, import prices rose 15.6% from a year earlier, compared with a revised 18.8% expansion in the prior month.
