Sector Update: Healthcare Stocks Softer Late Afternoon

Healthcare stocks declined late Monday afternoon, with the NYSE Healthcare Index falling 0.7% and the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) down 0.1%.

The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) shed 0.2%.

In corporate news, Integer (ITGR) agreed to be acquired and taken private by investment firm KKR (KKR) in an all-cash deal with an enterprise value of about $5.7 billion. Integer shares rose 2.6%.

AstraZeneca (AZN) is in talks with Bristol Myers Squibb (BMY) about a potential combination that would create a company valued at almost $400 billion, the Financial Times reported Sunday. AstraZeneca shares slumped 6.8%, and Bristol Myers rose 0.4%.

Lantheus Holdings (LNTH) agreed to be acquired and taken private by Curium for up to $8 billion. Lantheus shares rose 1.7%.

Krystal Biotech (KRYS) shares dropped 8.4% after its Q2 product revenue fell short of analysts' estimates.
