Scandium Canada (SCD.V) on Monday said it appointed Simon Thibault as its chief executive, effective immediately,
Guy Bourassa, the company's CEO since 2024, will continue to serve on the board and has taken on the role of strategic advisor to management to continue advancing projects related to its Crater Lake project in northern Quebec, it said.
"Thibault joins Scandium Canada from General Motors, where he has served since 2023 as EV Critical Materials Leader within the Global Purchasing and Supply Chain organization, supporting the sourcing of critical materials for GM's electric vehicle and energy storage programs," the company said.
The company also said Pierre Neatby resigned from the board and from his role as chief operating officer to pursue other opportunities.
Shares of the company were last seen up C$0.005, or 2.4%, to C$0.215 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
