Multiple energy sector facilities in Saudi Arabia's southern region were targeted on Tuesday, resulting in fires at multiple locations and a temporary suspension of select operations, the Saudi Press Agency reported, citing an official source at the Ministry of Energy.
Specialized field teams were swiftly deployed to contain the blazes, secure the impacted sites, and evaluate the extent of the damage, according to the statement from the Ministry of Energy published by SPA.
The attacks caused injuries of varying severity among several citizens and residents, who are currently receiving necessary medical treatment, it added.
SPA noted that relevant authorities are actively addressing the repercussions of the incident, implementing mandated safety protocols, and executing operational continuity plans to safeguard both personnel and infrastructure.
