Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said a deal with Oman on managing shipping through the Strait of Hormuz could be finalized soon, according to multiple media reports on Monday.

Speaking to reporters, Baqaei said talks on a temporary safe route through the key energy transit point have reached their final stages.

The arrangement would involve Iran and Oman documenting the agreement with the International Maritime Organization, he said, while calling on third parties not to interfere. Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not immediately reply to' request for comment.

Pickaxe Mountain, located near Iran's Natanz uranium enrichment facility, is a heavily fortified site that reportedly hosts two deeply buried tunnel complexes.Iran's military said on Thursday it targeted US bases in Kuwait and the UAE, the state-run Tasnim News Agency reported.
