Sage Potash (SAGE.V) has begun drilling at its Sage Plain Potash Project in the Paradox Basin, southeast Utah, it said Thursday.
The program targets the Paradox Basin potash deposits, which host multiple potash-bearing horizons, including the "highly prospective" Cycle 18 Upper and Lower beds, which is the company's primary exploration targets, said the company.
Drake Well Service, who has been engaged to provide drilling services, started drilling on July 8, and expects about 20 days to reach the Cycle 18 potash horizon at a depth of approximately 2,100 meters, said the company.
The drilling program is expected to help in upgrading the Project's potash resource estimates and position the company to advance toward engineering and development, added Sage Potash.
The company's shares were last seen unchanged at C$0.13 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
