Refined Energy (RUU.CN) cancelled its option to earn an interest in the Dufferin Uranium project in Saskatchewan, it said in a statement after markets closed on Friday.
The company had held the exclusive option to buy up to a 75% interest in Eagle Plains Resources' (EPL.V) 100% owned Dufferin West property.
"Following the completion of our initial exploration program and technical review, the company has elected not to proceed with the option agreement," said Refined Energy CEO Mark Fields. "We remain committed to a disciplined approach to capital allocation and will now focus our exploration efforts on advancing the Golden Goose gold-antimony project in Newfoundland."
Shares of the company closed up 5.3% to C$0.20 on Friday on the Canadian Securities Exchange.
