Sales of passenger vehicles in India increased to 4,38,854 units in May from 3,44,656 units in the same month last year, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) said in a Tuesday release.
Three-wheeler sales stood at 70,720 units in the month, gaining from 53,942 units in May 2025, while two-wheeler sales also rose to 19,02,209 units from 16,55,927 units during the year-ago period.
The data excluded sales of BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo and Tata Motors (BOM:500570, BOM:570001) vehicles.
