Nicola Mining Commits C$5 Million in Financing to Blue Lagoon Resources

Nicola Mining (NIM.V) said Monday that it is committing C$5 million in financing to Blue Lagoon Resources (BLLG.CN).

The financing, which will total C$10 million, is being made in conjunction with Ocean Partners UK, who is also committing C$5 million to Blue Lagoon, a statement said.

Nicola's investment was completed through a private placement of 8.3 million shares at C$0.60 each The company previously made a C$1 million investment in Blue Lagoon in January 2024.

Proceeds will support the development of Blue Lagoon's Dome Mountain Gold and Silver Project in British Columbia.

Nicola Mining shares were last seen up C$0.02 at C$0.76 on the TSX Venture Exchange.

July's job gains topped the expected increase of 20,000 and a 6.5% unemployment rate forecast in a Bloomberg survey.Employment growth was supported by strength across multiple sectors, with wholesale and retail trade adding 21,000 positions, while finance, insurance, real estate, rental and leasing, professional services, and construction sectors also recorded strong gains.In stocks, ACT Energy Technologies (ACX.TO) closed down 0.5% at C$6.12 after reporting Q2 net income of C$0.06 per share compared with a loss of C$0.30 per share in the prior year period. The company said in Canada it expects a stronger third quarter and a busier second half than the same period last year.Whereas goeasy (GSY.TO) closed up 6.3% at C$49.90 Friday, after reporting second-quarter adjusted earnings of C$1.02 per share late Thursday. This was down from C$4.40 per share a year earlier and below the FactSet consensus estimate of C$1.11 per share.

UraniumX Discovery Deploys C$3.8 Million on Athabasca Basin Projects

UraniumX Discovery (STMN.CN) said Friday after trade it deployed C$3.83-million cash towards its mineral property portfolio in the nine months ended May 31.The 2026 Murphy Lake diamond drill program in the Athabasca Basin was expanded from the initial target of 2,500 meters to 4,092 meters across nine holes. Anomalous radioactivity was intersected in five of the six target areas tested, defining two prospective trends, a statement said.The Murphy Lake South Trend has also been extended to 1.3 kilometers of strike length and assay results are pending. UraniumX said it expended C$2.6 million towards Murphy Lake.The remainder was directed towards Zoo Bay, which is in the northeastern edge of Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin, the company said.UraniumX shares closed up C$0.005 to C$0.07 on the Canadian Securities Exchange.

NEO Battery Materials to Raise C$4 Million Through LIFE Offering of Units

NEO Battery Materials (NBM.V) said Friday after trade it is seeking C$4 million from a private placement offering of units, instead of the previously announced C$6 million.The company will now issue 20-million units at a reduced price of C$0.20 each (down from C$0.24), under a listed issuer financing exemption (LIFE). Each unit will consist of one share and one three-year warrant to buy a share for C$0.30.Proceeds will be used to advance NEO's battery manufacturing operations in South Korea.NEO Battery shares closed down C$0.015 to C$0.19 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
