The S&P/TSX Composite Index closed at a new record high on Friday, extending its rally above the 36,000 mark as stronger-than-expected Canadian employment data lifted investor sentiment.

In commodities, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) and Brent crude were mixed on Friday as uncertainty surrounding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz kept investors focused on potential supply risks.
