A consortium comprising Naver's (KRX:035420) wholly-owned subsidiary Naver Cloud was selected as the operator for the a domestic project regarding the development of specialized AI foundation models for the cybersecurity sectortor and will begin full-scale development, according to a Thursday release.
To be precise, the consortium will carry out pre-training for the AI model by deploying 4,000 of its own graphics processing unit (GPU) before the official launch of the project, the release said.
The structure includes an additional 4,000 B200 GPUs from Naver Cloud and 256 H200 GPUs from LG Corp. (KRX:003550), separate from the 256 GPUs supplied by the South Korean government, it said.
Shares of Naver fell nearly 1% at market close.
