LG Partners with NVIDIA to Build AI Factory

LG Group (KRX:003550) is partnering with NVIDIA to build an artificial intelligence factory aimed at accelerating its AI-driven businesses, according to an official statement released on Sunday.The AI factory will provide computing infrastructure for training, simulation, validation and deployment of AI applications across LG Group's businesses, including robotics, autonomous driving, data center technologies and cloud services.The partnership combines NVIDIA's full-stack AI factory platform with LG's expertise in consumer electronics, robotics, mobility components, smart spaces and data center technologies.Under the agreement, the companies plan to integrate NVIDIA's Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab robotics frameworks into LG's development workflows, enabling the simulation, training and validation of robots in virtual environments before deployment.

South Korean shares closed at a new high on Thursday, just shying away from touching the 6,500 level, as investor optimism rose after the US and Iran extended their ceasefire indefinitely. Shares of Samsung Electronics added over 3% while those of LG Corp. added nearly 2% at market close.In economic news, South Korea's real gross domestic product increased 3.6% in the first quarter of 2026 from the same period last year, following a 1.6% annual expansion in the prior quarter, an advance estimate by the Bank of Korea indicated on Thursday.According to a median forecast of economists polled by Reuters, the country's real GDP was expected to grow 2.7%.On a quarterly basis, the economy grew by 1.7% in Q1, which also surpassed the Reuters estimate of 1%.Meanwhile, gross domestic income increased 12.3% on an on-year basis and 7.5% on an on-quarter basis in Q1In corporate news, Tovis (KOSDAQ:051360) posted first-quarter net income attributable to shareholders of 16.05 billion won, up 77% from 9.07 billion won a year earlier, according to a Thursday filing with the Korea Exchange.The South Korean display models manufacturer's sales jumped 10.4% year over year to 169.8 billion won from 153.8 billion won.Shares of Tovis rose more than 4% at market close.

LG, Nvidia to Develop Domain-Specific AI Models

LG AI Research Institute and Nvidia agreed to expand their collaboration to develop new AI models, LG Corp. (KRX:003550) said in a press release on Wednesday.The two entities plan to develop domain-specific AI solutions, which would involve combining LG's AI model ExaONE with Nvidia's Nemotron AI ecosystem, the release said.Shares of LG Corp. rose nearly 1% at market close.

LG Unveils AI Tool to Accelerate Cancer Diagnosis, Treatment

LG AI Research Institute and Vanderbilt University Medical Center unveiled the research results of their jointly developed technology, Cancer Agentic AI, at the American Association for Cancer Research 2026, LG Corp. (KRX:003550) said in a press release on Tuesday.The technology uses pathology-specialized AI to predict cancer gene activity within tissue samples in under a minute, the release said.The system is designed to streamline the cancer treatment workflow -- from tissue analysis to treatment planning -- within a single day. LG AI Research Institute, LSEG, Kiwoom Securities Partner to Launch Financial AI Agent Service

LG Corporation's (KRX:003550) LG AI Research Institute, London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) and capital market company Kiwoom Securities entered a partnership to launch a financial AI agent service that targets retail investors, LG said in a Tuesday release.The three companies will develop retail-friendly AI stock insights on Kiwoom's platform, alongside developing AI-driven asset management services, and lead joint marketing efforts, the release said.Shares of Kiwoom Securities rose nearly 4% at market close, while shares of LG rose marginally.
