South Korea's first after-market stock trading session on Monday generated 1.8 trillion won in traded stocks, Yonhap News Agency reported on the same day, citing the Korea Exchange.

The amount was equivalent to about 72.2 million traded shares, according to the report.

The four-hour after-market session ran from 4 pm to 8 pm, with most stocks listed on the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) and Kosdaq available for trading, the report said.

However, trading of exchange-traded funds and exchange-traded notes was not allowed to prevent market volatility, the report said.
