Hindustan Petroleum Corp is seeking offers from LNG suppliers on both a spot and long-term basis, Reuters reported on Monday.
HPCL has an 5-million-metric-ton-per-year LNG and regasification facility at Chhara in the west of India. It has an existing 10-year LNG import deal with Abu Dhabi National Oil for a volume of 500,000 tons annually through 2028.
The company is seeking to import volumes of up to 1 million tons per year of LNG for a period spanning 10-15 years, Reuters said, citing sources with knowledge of the matter.
HPCL did not immediately respond to Reuters' request for comment.has emailed HPCL seeking comment.
