Korean Air Lines (KRX:003490) placed an order for 103 jets--comprising 20 777-9, 25 787-10, 50 737-10, and eight 777-8 Freighter airplanes-- with Boeing, which fulfills the former's procurement commitment in August 2025, Boeing said Wednesday.
The move is aimed at modernizing the airline's fleet and supporting the carrier's growth as it fully integrates operations with Asiana Airlines (KRX:020560) over the next few years, according to the procurement commitment made last year.
Shares of both Korean Air Lines and Asiana Airlines fell nearly 2% in recent trade.
