Japan's industrial production rose 3.9% year over year in July, according to data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry released on Monday.
The reading missed market expectations of a 4.1% increase, tracked by Trading Economics. It follows a 4.9% growth in the previous month.
On a month-over-month basis, factory output edged down -0.2% during the month from a 1.9% rise in the prior month.
