India to Pursue GCC, Israel FTAs Once Regional Situation Stabilizes

By

India will soon conclude free trade agreements with the Gulf Cooperation Council and Israel once conditions in the region stabilize, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said Wednesday.

The agreements with Israel and the GCC, which comprises Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain, will be finalized "as soon as things stabilize over there," Goyal said at the annual session of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India.

Goyal said India also plans to pursue FTAs with other countries to secure greater access to critical minerals needed to build resilient supply chains.
